At the IS Group, we promote the integration of technology into the learning process, using the 1:1 formula. For this reason, every student, from PYP to DP, uses a personal IT support that will accompany and broaden his/her knowledge, inside and outside the classroom.

Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the PYP encompasses the use of a wide range of digital tools, media and learning environments for teaching, learning and assessing. ICT allows students to make connections and reach a deeper understanding of its relevance and applicability to their everyday lives. Through the use of ICT, learners develop and apply strategies for critical and creative thinking, engage in inquiry, make connections, and apply new understandings and skills in different contexts.

The following six ICT skills are relevant to all learners: investigating, creating, communicating, collaborating, organizing and becoming responsible digital citizens. Each skill is transdisciplinary and will support learning both within the transdisciplinary programme of inquiry and within the subject areas.

The Tablet has become one of the indispensable tools in the ISE primary school. The 1:1 iPad program aims to integrate technology into teaching and learning so as to support the educational mission of our school. The use of the Tablet in class carries responsibilities and behavioral expectations consistent with school rules and policies. The students in primary school should use the tablet and the school network in a responsible, ethical, and legal manner at all times.

Although all classrooms are fitted with smart TVs and students bring tablets or laptops to school, we use technology in a blended approach where we feel it adds value to teaching and learning and not merely to replace traditional methods (yes, we do use books and, yes, we do talk to one another).
