The International School of Siena opened in 2010 and has developed and grown considerably during the subsequent years. We are an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and our primary school hosts children between 3 and 11 years old whilst our Middle School continues to develop as we grow by a grade level each school year, currently with students up to 15 years old. Villa Parigini is about 6 km from Siena in the small, unpolluted township of Basciano. A historical location of great beauty, it hosts a school that is unique of its kind. International and multicultural, every day it welcomes 90 students of 15 different nationalities.

The fascinating architectural backdrop of IS Siena creates a pleasant environment. Its extensive gardens are available for recreational activities, sports and groups studying in the open air. There is a canteen service and during the afternoons a rich programme of after-school activities are on offer.
An IB education provides opportunities to develop both disciplinary and interdisciplinary understanding that meet rigorous standards set by institutions of higher learning around the world. IB programmes offer curriculum frameworks and courses that are broad and balanced, conceptual and connected. The IS Group has an excellent track record in using group dynamics, innovative teaching techniques and tools that are updated continuously.
The Early Years programme take students aged 2.5 to 5, in a structure that satisfies all the children’s needs: from physical and emotional growth to learning, in a tranquil, pleasant environment, state-of-the-art and eco-sustainable.
Primary School follow the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP), a programme based on inquiry which places the child at the centre of the learning process, enabling him/her to acquire all the concepts proposed.
The Middle School follows the Middle Years Programme (MYP) of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO). The MYP curriculum includes eight subject groups and provides a broad, balanced education for students aged 11 to 16 years. It provides a learning structure that encourages students to become creative, critical and reflective thinkers.

The school bus service is based on the amount of interested families and the geographical distance. If there are not enough families to share the costs of a bus service in a particular school year, there is not one available. Parents can contact the school office for more information.
The International School of Siena has ushered in a new era, having commenced with the construction of their brand new campus facilities. With space to accommodate 300 students between the ages of 3 and 18, the building takes up 3,400 square meters. Two floors make up the covered surface area, in addition to 3,500 square meters for outdoor activities. Completion is expected 2018/2019.
Lunches are provided by the school at an additional cost to parents. The menu is published each term, based on the seasons. Children are also provided with a morning snack of fruit and afternoon snack before the end of school. Download: Lunch Service
